About Carolyn D. Greene

Welcome! I’m a clinical psychologist in private practice in New York with over 14 years of experience helping adults move through anxiety, depression, difficult transitions, and the lasting effects of trauma. I specialize in treating trauma-related concerns as well as mood and anxiety disorders in pregnancy and postpartum. Whether you're been struggling with long-standing issues or are facing a new problem, my approach is welcoming and collaborative, focused on helping you deepen self awareness, see fresh perspectives as you navigate life’s challenges, and make meaningful, positive changes in your life.

I incorporate both a long-term relational perspective with short-term evidence-based techniques, including EMDR. My approach combines insight oriented work with goal directed interventions. I offer weekly talk therapy as well as EMDR Intensives, which provide a deeper, more immersive experience for those wanting to make meaningful progress more quickly.

My education and experience includes:

  • B.A., Psychology, Barnard College of Columbia University (2007)

  • Psy.D., Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Yeshiva University (2013)

  • Predoctoral Internship, New York University, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation (2013)

  • Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Veterans Affairs (2014)

  • Staff Psychologist, Department of Veterans Affairs (2014 - 2020)

  • Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C) (2025)

  • EMDR Certified through the EMDR International Assoc. (2025)

  • I have a strong background in evaluation and diagnosis of various psychiatric conditions such as PTSD and in neuropsychological assessment of traumatic brain injury.

Although beginning therapy can be overwhelming for many reasons, I can make the process a little easier for you. Please contact me to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about my practice and how I can help.

I am licensed in New York and Massachusetts and can see clients in either NY or MA.
